Vicky Abraham posted on Facebook that she had queued with her son, who is five years old, for more than an hour only 30 seconds on a PC.

Another parent said she was waiting for 45 minutes to get an empty water bottle and that the event was "appalling" with nothing to do. Another parent contacted the BBC to say that they had left after 30 minutes due to the long lines and that her son was "crying throughout the journey home."

Some posted on Facebook However, they left happy, with one comment: "I thought you put on a fantastic event for PS15."

Lisa O'Brien of O'Brien Event Management said that she sympathized with parents because we all have kids. Due to the huge number of people who turned up on the day instead of purchasing tickets in advance, queues were 45 minutes long, she said.

She said that the convention was unprecedented in size and that some official items didn't arrive in time for it to begin.

She said organisers had "taken on everyone's comments and suggestions" and were scheduled to meet to figure out what went wrong, adding that a new statement would be issued on Monday evening.
