1 Open the Minecraft launcher.

2 Choose the "Edit profile" button.

1. Open your Home Windows from your task bar and type "%appdata #"

2 Select: The ".minecraft" folder should be at the top of your window.

3. Search for the "mods" folder, if you don't have it yet, just create a new folder and name it as "mods".

4 If your mod file is a zip file when you download it from the web do not extract it, move the zip file to the "mods" folder. If the zip file contains the jar files, you'll only need to drag the jar file to the "mods" folder.

5 Open your minecraft launcher again (Make sure you've set up your Forge profile If not, read Part 3 again). Click "Play" and you just have to wait for it to download some extra libraries. When it's done, you can play your modified game! The game is up to date and I tried everything I could to get it to load. All I see is the launch screen. What can I do?

Some mods require core mods (e.g. CodeChickenCore requires core mods, so make sure you've go through the mod's website prior to downloading. It won't work if it doesn’t include the core mods required.
